Reclouder uses different technologies to make your recording process more effective. With hybrid we mean that we combine traditional and new technology to do this. Reclouder records locally first on its integrated SD card. When connected with Wi-Fi, it will start uploading to the connected cloud service. This way you record and store locally as well as in the cloud.
Also you can connect mics and instruments with the wide range of connectors ranging from phantom powered XLR to stereo 6.35 jacks. This makes Reclouder the versatile solution for musicians, DJs, videographers and live sound technicians. Every feature of Reclouder has multiple purposes and that is why it is the solution for a wide range of creators. We call that hybrid!
Sending audio recordings over the internet into our cloud service has multiple benefits. For instance you instantly create backups of your recordings. Also you streamline your production process, as you no longer need to manually transfer data from SD card to a computer, and you no longer need to send large files over the internet using services as Wetransfer. This process is done automatically when connected to Wi-Fi. Simply grab your recordings from the cloud or give permission to your inner circle to move your productions forward.
What you can do is capture, sync, archive and share all your recordings in and from the cloud. You can link multiple Reclouders in your session and all of the recorded data will be easily accessible for anybody you grant access to. It is easy, fast & effective. This is useful when you work with multi-camera setups as well.
With the Reclouder approach you record on the internal SD card and start uploading to the cloud when connect to Wi-Fi. You can have all the material available for processing before you wrapped up your gear, or ask your post-production specialist to start processing while you are still capturing material.
Absolutely! Reclouder has an intelligent design, when you connect it through Reclouder.com via Wi-Fi and internet, our cloud service will detect your device and check the firmware version. If there is a new upgrade, the new firmware file will be downloaded to your Reclouder and executed automatically in a few seconds.
Yes! It is possible to record audio in the middle of nowhere with Reclouder. First Reclouder will use its integrated SD card and you can record your audio on this card in the traditional way. As soon as it connects with Wi-Fi, Reclouder will start uploading all recorded data to our cloud service.
As long as you don't have internet access, you can use it as a traditional recorder and transfer the data when connected to Wi-Fi. If you want to edit in the middle of nowhere that will work as you can extract the files from the SDHC card with a general USB card reader.
You can use Reclouder as an audio recorder with top quality preamp, enriching the recording quality of your (camera) mic and recorded audio. Also Reclouder will operate on 3x AAA battery power (or type-C USB) which makes it possible to record anytime, anywhere as a standalone smart recording device.
We use the "bi sound" solution to wirelessly communicate the starting point within the Reclouder network. Reclouder will generate a sound marker (or "bi" sound) internally which will be recorded in the beginning of the audio files. This marker will also be sent to the audio input of your camera. After you record both audio and video, you can import all files (with sound marker) in your editing software like final cut pro, your software will use our sound marker (or "bi" sound) to sync all files.
Reclouder is not a streaming service like Spotify, Deezer, Youtube or Apple Music. Our cloud service is not a social service like Facebook or Instagram. Reclouder is a hybrid audio recording solution. It records as a standalone unit and automatically stores your raw audio material in the connected cloud service. You decide who has access to these files for post-production. Now you can build a complete audio archive with your recordings.
You store and sync your recordings in the cloud using Reclouder as a smart audio recording hardware unit. From the cloud you either grab or share your material for post-production. Therewith there is no public streaming, video flux or latency involved. Neither are there any copyright issues as your cloud is private.
If you use a video microphone and a camera to shoot audio and video you can use Reclouder as a high quality pro grade preamp. This way you can fully benefit from the quality of your current microphone. Without Reclouder you would have used the audio circuit in your camera. Cameras are not build for audio. Reclouder will improve the quality of your audio recordings.
Next, Reclouder will automatically upload your material to the cloud when connected through Wi-Fi. This way you no longer need to manually process the data transfers. It will ease up your workflow. From the cloud you can grab your audio anytime for post-production. Or you can give access to your best producer to do it for you in post. Also you can link multiple Reclouders and create a multitrack recording network.
Your recordings will be synced and stored in the cloud. From there you also can share your material with VIPs for validation and processing. This will be interesting when shooting multi-camera projects, such as live music, weddings and events, especially when you are not focussing on one audio source.
When you record with your camera and want to have high quality audio for speech, you can add the Reclouder and use its high quality preamp to upgrade the audio recording. Simply integrate Reclouder in your existing set up and add it between your video microphone and camera. Streamline your production process.
Reclouder is a versatile solution for a wide range of creatives. Due to the many user scenarios it would not be cost-efficient to add multiple accessories in the packaging. You would pay for stuff you would never use.
Reclouder is designed to be compatible with most smartphone clamps. You can decide for yourself what you need and if you are willing to invest in it. Therefore the clamps and mounting accessory is optional and not included in the packaging.
After some tests, we recommend you to select the clamp with a screw hole in the middle of the backside.
There are both plastic and metal clamp models on the market:

https://www.amazon.com/Oumij-Tripod-Mobile-Holder-Aluminium/dp/B07Y2YC9G2/
Also you will need a “multi-functional ballhead clamp adapter” with “bottom clamp” to mount your Reclouder on mic stand. With this solution you can get any angle for easy operation.

To mount on a camera hot shoe, you will need a “1/4"-20 tripod screw adapter” with smartphone clamp. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018UJLIOE/
As mentioned before Reclouder can function in many different scenarios. If we would start including all these different types of cables, to price of one Reclouder would raise and you would pay for things you would never use. Therefore the cables are optional and not included.
Here is what you need:
Vocalist/Singer: When you connect Reclouder between the stage microphone and the PA mixer, you will need 1x “XLR-female-to-XLR-male” and 1x “XLR-male-to-XLR-male“ cable. The cable does not have to be too long, since you will mount the Reclouder on the microphone stand and use the original microphone cable as extension.
Guitar/Bass: When you connect the Reclouder between the output of an amplifier or effect unit and a PA mixer, you will need 3x “6.35mm-TS Jack-mono” audio cables for connecting the guitar, amp/effector and mixer.
When you connect Reclouder between a microphone in front of the guitar amplifier and a PA mixer, you will need 1x “XLR-female-to-XLR-male” and 1x “XLR-male-to-XLR-male” cable.
Keyboard: When you connect Reclouder between the L/R audio output of a keyboard and a PA mixer, you will need 2x “6.35mm-TS-Jack-double-mono-to-6.35mm-TRS-Jack-stereo-Y-cables”.
Drums: for each microphone it will be similar to connecting Reclouder between a stage microphone and the PA mixer. You will need 1x “XLR-female-to-XLR-male” and 1x “XLR-male-to-XLR-male” cable.
DJ: When you connect Reclouder between the L/R audio output of the DJ mixer and a PA mixer, you will need two Y cables. 1x “RCA-double-mono-to-6.35mm-TRS-Jack-stereo-y-cable” for DJ mixer, and 1x “6.35mm-TRS Jack-to-6.35mm-TS-Jack-double-mono-y-cable”.
Video: When you connect Reclouder between shotgun microphone and camera, you will need 1x “XLR-female-to-XLR-male” cable to connect the mic, and 1x “3.5mm-TRS-Jack-cable” to connect camera mic input for backup recording.
When you use a shotgun mic with Boompole, you will need 2x “3.5mm-TRS-Jack-cables” to connect the mic and camera. Also you can use your headphones to monitor the recording.
When you use a Rode Video Mic or lavalier mics and camera, you will need up to 3x “3.5mm-TRS-Jack” cables.
No. Because we decided to use general AAA battery and normally they are not rechargeable. When you plug in a USB Type-C power supply, the device will be switched to USB power instead of battery power. The batteries will not be charged by doing so.
We did not use customized rechargeable lithium batteries in the design. This was considered carefully. Reclouder will not be used everyday, like you will do with your mobile phone. The lithium battery will slowly discharge (self-discharge) when not in use, and it will gradually lose their capacity to be recharged and deliver power. This loss of capacity (aging) is irreversible. As the battery loses capacity over time there will be a decrease of delivered power (run time) and the battery should be replaced.
Also the lithium battery has limited lifespan including recharge times, the typical estimated life is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first. When the battery life is over, you will need to change it with extra costs.
It is up to 32GB with FAT32 file system. 32GB for 2 channel recording is more than sufficient. For 24Bit/96Khz stereo recording it can record more than 15 hours continuously (double time for 24Bit/48Khz). Reclouder is a decentralized hybrid audio recorder, and unlike other centralized multitrack recorders, it does not need to record 8 channels or 16 channels on one memory card. If we calculate with current 32GB, that means 8 tracks of Reclouder will make a stunning 256GB SD memory capacity.
Reclouder uses a microSD card with SDHC format and FAT32 file system. Please refer to this information: https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/choices/speed_class/index.html
Reclouder is designed to be future-ready. That means we use wireless technology to transfer data directly. With our built-in Wi-Fi and internet connection feature, the recorded audio files will be uploaded to the cloud automatically. For us this means you will never need to transfer the data via USB.
If you really need it, you can use a regular SDHC card reader with a USB connector to manually transfer your files from Reclouder. Keep in mind that if we would have added USB data transfer features, it would have added to the price of a Reclouder.
Also Reclouder is designed as a standalone audio recorder, it does not rely on any computer. That is why we think an audio interface function is not necessary. Again we try to save every cent from insignificant features for our customers.
Reclouder can use any general USB power adapter or power bank with Type-C connector.
Reclouder can work with most condenser microphones (with 48v power supply), dynamic microphones, wireless microphones, shotgun microphones, video microphones, and lavalier microphones.
Our current plan of subscription price is set as follows:
Free Plan: 1GB cloud storage
Artist Plan: $4.99/per month for 10GB cloud storage, unlimited collaborators
We have investigated all major cloud service providers including Google, Amazon and Microsoft in the last months. Iit is not easy to get clear and transparent insights concerning the costs per user for fixed capacity size. We do understand the principle of cloud costs. The more people use it, the less it will cost. So we decided to set an affordable price first with some headroom for future changes. If the cloud costs turn out to be higher than our current estimated price, we will cover this part by ourselves. If it is cheaper, we will give more cloud storage for Reclouder users gradually. So finally every subscription will benefits all Reclouder cloud community.
